Students in Grade 6 will learn about
ancient civilizations through a variety of
aspects. As the second Trimester continues,
6th graders focus on ancient Egypt, `the
migration of Indo-Europeans into India and
the development of civilizations and culture
in China. Along with Buddhism, Hinduism, and
Confucianism, we will also study early
Biblical history.
Performance Objectives:
- learn key terms and usage of these
terms as they relate to the study and
development of civilizations
- continue to reinforce and recite the
five features of civilization
- understand how geography has affected
the movement and development of
civilizations
- learn how civilizations developed
empires and why
- learn how beliefs influenced the
development and growth of civilization
- learn how governing systems developed
and why
- learn and appreciate the contributions
of early civilizations (including art,
literature, …)
- learn how to read and use maps
(identifying absolute and relative
location, names of places and capitals)
